CLIPSAL C-BUS REPAIR & FAULT FINDING MELBOURNE
Is your Clipsal C-Bus system playing up – switches not responding, lights stuck on or off, scenes misbehaving, or the whole network down? DUKE Electrical Group are the Melbourne C-Bus repair specialists who diagnose and fix C-Bus faults, including systems we didn’t install and systems no one has the documentation for.
C-Bus is reliable, but like any system it can develop faults over the years – a failed power supply or dimmer, a damaged section of network cable, a unit that’s lost its address, or programming that’s drifted. Because we program in C-Bus Toolkit and have more than 15 years with the system, we can read what’s really going on, find the fault fast, and get your home or building working again.
C-Bus faults we fix
Unresponsive switches & keypads. DLT and standard keypads that don’t respond, or control the wrong loads – often addressing, unit or network issues we can trace and correct.
Failed dimmers, relays & power supplies. Output units and power supplies do fail eventually; we diagnose and replace them and get the loads back under control.
Network & programming faults. Cable damage, clock/bridge issues and drifted programming that make a system unreliable – diagnosed in C-Bus Toolkit and put right.
C-Bus not working the way it should? Call DUKE Electrical Group on 1300 003 853 for Melbourne C-Bus repair and fault finding, and we’ll get your system back under control.

SYSTEM WON’T RESPOND
Whole areas dead, switches doing nothing, or the network offline – we methodically trace power, network and unit faults to find the real cause rather than guessing.
INHERITED OR UNDOCUMENTED SYSTEMS
Bought a home with C-Bus and no manual? Original installer long gone? We take over undocumented systems, read them in C-Bus Toolkit, and rebuild the documentation as we go.
PARTIAL FAULTS & QUIRKS
One room misbehaving, a scene that won’t run, a switch controlling the wrong lights – the annoying intermittent faults are our bread and butter.
FAST, HONEST DIAGNOSIS
We find the fault, explain it plainly, and quote the fix before proceeding – no surprises, and no replacing parts that don’t need replacing.
FAQ
Can you repair a C-Bus system you didn't install?
Yes – it’s a large part of what we do. We take over, diagnose and repair C-Bus systems installed by others, including undocumented ones. We read the system in C-Bus Toolkit, find the fault, and rebuild the documentation as we go.
My C-Bus switches have stopped responding. What's wrong?
It could be a power supply fault, a network cabling issue, a unit that’s lost its address, or a programming problem. These need methodical diagnosis rather than guesswork – we trace power, network and units in C-Bus Toolkit to find the real cause.
Do C-Bus dimmers and relays fail?
Occasionally, yes – output units and power supplies can fail after many years of service. We diagnose the faulty unit, replace it with the correct part, and re-commission it so your loads work correctly again.
I've lost the documentation / the installer is gone. Can you still help?
Absolutely. Undocumented systems are common. We connect with C-Bus Toolkit, read the existing programming, work out how the system is built, fix the fault, and leave you with proper documentation.
How quickly can you come out?
Response times vary with our team’s availability and your location, but we prioritise systems that are down or causing disruption and can usually attend quickly. Call us and we’ll give you a realistic time.
Will you replace parts unnecessarily?
No. We diagnose the actual fault first, explain it plainly and quote the fix before proceeding. We won’t swap out working parts – you only pay to fix what’s actually wrong.
Can a fault be fixed, or do I need a whole new system?
Most C-Bus faults are repairable – a failed unit, a cabling issue or a programming problem. Full replacement is rarely necessary. If your system is very dated, we’ll discuss upgrade options honestly; see our C-Bus upgrades page.
Do you offer ongoing support after a repair?
Yes. Once your system is documented and working, we can provide ongoing support and maintenance so small issues are caught early and your C-Bus stays reliable.
